Banner and Tile Ads
If you want to promote your products or services online, banners and tiles are timely, efective, and creative choices. They can complement an existing campaign, or be used for a special, targeted promotion, linking the customer right where you want them.
"Tiles" (150 x150 pixels) Generally available in the right column of pages.
"Banners" (468 x 60 pixels) Generally available on the top and/or bottom of pages.
"Half-Banners" (234 x 60 pixels)
Available on the top and/or bottom of limited pages.
Dimensions
Ads should be provided in the following standard sizes:
Full Banner - 468 x 60 pixels
Half Banner - 234 x 60 pixels
Tile - 120 x 90 pixels or 150 x 150 pixels
File Sizes
Ads should be no larger than 17K to optimize page loading time. Ads should be created as small as possible without sacrificing readability or good design. While we strongly discourage submitting an ad larger than 17K, should it exceed this limit the following cost scale will apply:
18-20K - Increase ad price by 50%
21-25K - increase ad price by 75%
26-30K - double ad price
There are many ways to decrease ad size (limit number of colors used, choose an image with flat shapes over gradients, limit the number of frames in animations, etc.). These options should be explored before supplying ads over 17K.
Other requirements
* Ads supplied by the client must be delivered at least 3 days prior to their intended start date.
* Ads may be delivered via e-mail.
* Acceptable file formats are GIF, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or native Photoshop, Illustrator or Freehand files. Microsoft Word documents are not accepted
* Animation is acceptable, but it must end after three loops. No strobing effects.
* Flash or other rich-media formats must be approved individually prior to start date. These formats should default to a GIF for non-enabled browsers. Sound may be used, but only on mouseover or click.
* Ads with white or light-colored edges or backgrounds must include have a border around the complete image. This border must be visible at all times. |
